The makers of Pokémon released collectors to the trading card game DP edition in the year 2007, featuring the Bonsly illustration. But that isn't everything she has as well. She obtained twenty holo reverse copies of the Bonsly card, which depicts the little guy in reflective foil all over except the main image. The most valuable item, however, proves to be the PSA 6-rated holo reverse of Bonsly. Admittedly, it's far from a top-graded Charizard illustration. But do you have a quirky, almost perfect Bonsly card maintained in its eternal glory? I didn't think so.

The Start of the Obsession

She invested much of 2025 stockpiling every 2007 Bonsly card available on the market. She first heard about the out-of-print card earlier this year, while debating the notoriously odd cards in the compendium with a staff member at her favorite card shop. The weeping Omanyte was a contender, just like the forever alone Cubone at the theme park. However, the one that Bonsly crying, or the seventeenth card, that grabbed her interest.

The Concept of Bonsly

Bonsly draws clear inspiration by bonsai plants, which are typically planted in pots featuring holes for drainage. The liking turned into an all-consuming hobby, as she acquired all copies of this card available to her. She soon developed a habit of visiting her favorite shop every week, and earned the nickname among the staff as the Bonsly fan. They started reserving all incoming Bonsly #71 cards it received exclusively for Emily. The majority of these go for a few dollars, she notes, estimating that she has invested approximately four hundred dollars only on the album itself.

The Financial Side

These days, excellent this Bonsly card can cost up to $14.99. While that is a premium price, standard copies tend to cost starting at $4.
